NEW HAMPSHIRE SOLDIER LETTER WRITTEN HOME FROM VIRGINIA,
DECEMBER 25, 1861:
Written home to his brother by a New Hampshire soldier
from Camp California, Virginia along the Potomac River
on Christmas Day, December 25, 1861. A newsy letter,
describing camp life, daily activities and events held
to observe the holiday, to include a greased pig chase.
Signed A. Johnson, the three page letter is intact and
features a color patriotic letter head imprint. This is
a good Civil War letter from a soldier that could be
researched further written on the first Christmas of the
War. $125
