MODEL 1916 CANTLE BAG LINER – DIFFICULT ITEM TO
FIND ON THE LOOSE TO COMPLETE YOUR BAGS: A
single green canvas liner for the Model 1916 Cantle
Bags. One of the more difficult saddle or cantle bag
liners to find on the loose, these liners are far more
scarce than the standard 1885-1904 saddlebag liners and
are unique to the Model 1916 Cantle Bags in their cut,
style and size. Made of a light OD green canvas, the
liner has the four whip stitched button holes (two on
the front, two on the rear) to attach the liner into the
cantle bag. The canvas is overall clean with some minor
soiling due to use. The top edge still retains the
binding which covers the raw edge of the canvas and it
is completely intact with no wear. The liner does have
a ½” hole low on the front panel which would not be
visible when the liner is in the bag. There are also
two separations in the bottom of the gusset as can be
seen in the photographs below. One is 1” long and the
other is 2” long. Both of these could be sewn up if you
so desired, but both are stable, neither affects the
integrity of the liner, and neither would be visible
when the liner is mounted in the cantle bag. This is a
scarce opportunity to complete one of your cantle bags
and in spite of the obvious signs of use and wear, this
liner will display very nicely. $125 |
