MODEL 1912 CAVALRY LARIAT - PICKET ROPE - MINT UNISSUED: Another of the unique pieces of equipment which were introduced with Model 1912 Trial Horse Equipments, this Model 1912 Cavalry Lariat is one of the rarest of those equipments, surviving in very low numbers, particularly in the “like new” unissued condition in which this specimen presents.

Not only were the Model 1912 Lariats manufactured in far smaller numbers than the more common Model 1904 Lariats, but they were also very functional, adaptable items, and many of those which survived the original issues were no doubt consumed in a variety of unintended applications by soldiers in both of the World Wars which followed.

In unissued, like new condition, this original Model 1912 Cavalry Lariat or Picket Rope is complete with the snap hook and ring.  A notable specimen, the olive drab webbing shows no wear or soiling, and appears to be in the original coil in which it was prepared at the arsenal.  The ring and snap hook have retained virtually 100% of the original darkened finish.

For those of you familiar with these lariats, you know how rare they are, and finding one in this condition is quite notable.  SOLD
