DOUBLE LOOP BROWN LEATHER HOLSTER FOR A SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER WITH A 5 ˝” BARREL LENGTH – VERY NICE SPECIMEN:  This is a very well preserved specimen of a “Mexican” Double Loop Holster for a large frame revolver such as the Colt Single Action.  A holster of the type intended for sale to a working cowboy, it is nonetheless well made and the pouch is embellished with a simple stamped pattern around its profile.

The leather surface retains a bright, clear, shiny surface - smooth with no crazing or flaking and the entire stamped pattern is legible.  The leather is supple and holds its shape with no weaknesses.  The bottom of the front surface of the skirt, hidden under the pouch, is legibly stamped “812”, likely the maker’s model number.  Showing signs of having carried a revolver, the holster has not been abused or worn out.  There is some light flexing along the fold and just above the toe where the leather was stretched by the barrel of the revolver.  The seam is fully intact down through the rounded toe with no loss of the stitching.  The holster measures 10” OAL and 5 ˝” OAW.  The belt loop formed by the skirt will easily accept a 3 ˝” to 4” wide cartridge belt.

This is a simple working class holster, yet it is still features a very pleasing profile and it has survived in very nice condition.  (0911)  $625
