MILLS BELT HOLSTER HANGER WIRE – VERY SCARCE MILLS
ACCESSORY: Introduced with the Mills belts in
the early 1890’s, these brass wire hangers allowed the
holster to be carried on the Mills cartridge belts
without interfering with, or limiting access to, the
cartridge loops that would otherwise be covered by the
holster’s wide belt loop. Known to have been made in
two variations, one longer than the other, this original
Mills holster hanger when mounted over the top edge of
the narrow Mills Revolver Cartridge Belt suspends the
holster along the lower edge of the belt. This brass
hanger measures 3 ˝” along the bar that would support
the holster’s belt loop and 2 ˝” high. Far from common,
these holster hangers are almost never encountered
separate from the cartridge belts and are far less
common than the more familiar bayonet hanger wires.
Here is a rare opportunity to complete your revolver
pistol cartridge belt.
SOLD
NOTE: The holster shown in the
photographs below is not included in the sale of the
hanger wire, and is only included in the photographs to
illustrate how the wire was used with the holster.
