SHARPS RIFLE COMPANY 10 ROUND CARTRIDGE PACKETS &
INDIVIDUAL
.52 CALIBER SHARPS LINEN
CARTRIDGES -
EXCELLENT COMPLETE EXAMPLES:
I have the following selection of original, complete
Civil War issue .52
Caliber
Sharps Rifle and Carbine Linen Cartridges.
These individual cartridges are excellent
examples of the ammunition issued for both the Sharps
Rifles and Carbines on the far reaches of the Dragoon
era frontier west, on the battlefields of the Civil War,
and in the early years of western expansion following
the War. These cartridges for any of the early carbines and rifles are
becoming increasingly difficult to find, and in
particular those for the popular Sharps firearms have
all but disappeared from the current market.
Each of these offerings are listed
below with accompanying photographs.

NO. 1
.52 CALIBER SHARPS LINEN
CARTRIDGE – EXCELLENT COMPLETE EXAMPLE – FULL FORM &
INTACT:
This is a very nice specimen, retaining its full form, with the full powder
charge and the tissue paper base fully intact, this one
shows no wear from storage. The linen powder tube is in full
form and intact with no weakness, the
bullet retains its full form, and the powder charge is
still in place with no leakage. There is
some discoloration to the linen due to storage, however
the linen is still fully intact and is not weakened.
Becoming increasingly
difficult to find on the market, this is a good
opportunity to obtain an excellent example of this
workhorse cartridge of the US Cavalry, used on the far
reaches of the Dragoon era frontier west, through the
Civil War, and in the early years of western expansion
following the War. (0162) $200

NO. 2
.52 CALIBER SHARPS LINEN
CARTRIDGE – VERY GOOD COMPLETE EXAMPLE – FULL FORM &
INTACT:
This is the last of the
lot, and while retaining its full form, with the full powder
charge and the tissue paper base fully intact, this one
shows a little age and wear from storage. There is
a stain on one side of the cartridge body and the base
shows a small surface loss immediately adjacent to the
stain. The linen powder tube is otherwise in full
form and intact with no weakness, the
bullet retains its full form, and the powder charge is
still in place with no leakage.
Becoming increasingly
difficult to find on the market, this is a good
opportunity to obtain an example of this
workhorse cartridge of the US Cavalry, used on the far
reaches of the Dragoon era frontier west, through the
Civil War, and in the early years of western expansion
following the War. Despite the affects of age,
this cartridge is a very good representative specimen to
add to your display. (0210) $175
