.58 CALIBER METALLIC CARTRIDGES FOR THE EARLY US ARMY CARTRIDGE CONVERSION RIFLES:  These cartridges were developed for the .58 caliber conversions of Civil War rifles produced by the Springfield Armory and civilian contractors in the post Civil War years.  Manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal, these rimfire and internally primed centerfire cartridges were used for a very limited period and are quite scarce today.  I have the following cartridges available, each listed separately below with accompanying photographs.

.58 CALIBER INTERNALLY PRIMED CENTERFIRE CARTRIDGE FOR EARLY US ARMY CARTRIDGE CONVERSION RIFLES:  This is a relatively scarce specimen of the cartridge developed for the .58 caliber conversions of Civil War rifles produced by the Springfield Armory and civilian contractors in the post Civil War years.  Manufactured by Frankford arsenal, this internally primed center fire cartridge is in excellent condition.  As one of the first of the post-Civil War center fire metallic cartridges, these are one of the important Indian War cartridges to add to your collection, and they are becoming increasingly difficult to find.  (0201)  $100 PENDING

.58 CALIBER RIMFIRE BLANK CARTRIDGE FOR THE US ARMY 1ST ALLIN MODEL 1865 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE:   A very nice specimen of the blank cartridge issued for the .58 caliber Model 1865 1st Allin Conversion Rifle produced by the Springfield Armory.

During the Indian Wars period blank ammunition was regularly provided to the Infantry for ceremonial occasions and funerals.  The first of the primary issue post-Civil War metallic cartridges and manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal, these blanks were an integral component of the standard issue of ammunition to the frontier soldier and have a rightful place in any Indian War ammunition display.

This important Indian War cartridge is quite rare in its own right - probably the rarest of the Indian Wars era blanks - this is the first of these blanks I've had in many years.  NOTE - I have just this one.  SOLD
