.50 FRANKFORD ARSENAL INTERNALLY PRIMED PISTOL
CARTRIDGE FOR THE MODEL 1871 REMINGTON ARMY AND NAVY SINGLE SHOT
PISTOLS: Manufactured by the Frankford
Arsenal and issued to the Cavalry soldiers during the
early years of the Indian Wars with their Model 1871
Remington Army Single Shot Pistols and to the Sailors
with their Model 1867 Remington Navy Single Shot Pistols. These .50
caliber internally primed, center fire cartridges are
fairly difficult to find on the loose and are an
important addition to any Indian War cartridge display,
as the last single shot pistol round in the United
States military's
inventory.
