EARLY INDIAN WAR FRANKFORD ARSENAL .44 CALIBER PISTOL CARTRIDGES AS ISSUED W/ COLT RICHARDS CONVERSION AND THE .44 S&W AMERICAN REVOLVERS - 3 VERSIONS - INTERNALLY PRIMED, BERDAN PRIMED & MARTIN PRIMED:  These are individual collector quality .44 Caliber Cartridges manufactured by the Frankford Arsenal and issued to the Cavalry soldiers from 1869 through 1873 for use in their Richards Conversion Colt, and the Smith and Wesson American Revolvers.  Fairly rare to find on the loose, these were an important pistol cartridge on the post Civil War Western Frontier and they are a nice addition to display with your early Indian War pistols and cartridge boxes.

Both of these cartridges were manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal and were packaged in twelve round packets.  Each cartridge is pictured in the photographs below, shown top to bottom in the order in which they are listed.

.44 Caliber Smith and Wesson American, Martin Primed, copper cased  SOLD OUT

.44 Caliber Colt, copper cased Berdan Primed:  These are a very early loading featuring the Berdan primer and no headstamp, and might well be an early Frankford Arsenal production for the Richard's Colt Conversions.  SOLD
