CIVIL WAR ERA PIN-FIRE REVOLVER CARTRIDGES - 2mm - 12mm - PACKETS AND SINGLE CARTRIDGES:  Popular during the Civil War, the Pinfire Revolvers were some of the earliest fixed metallic cartridge revolvers available, and were carried in some quantity by soldiers and officers on both sides of the conflict.

I have the following pinfire cartridge packets and single cartridges in stock, each listed individually below with accompanying photographs.

No. CIVIL WAR ERA  12MM PINFIRE REVOLVER CARTRIDGE TIN –with 45 ORIGINAL CARTRIDGES:  An original Civil War era 12mm Pin-Fire Revolver cartridge tin consistent with the packets of pin-fire ammunition imported during the Civil War for privately purchased revolvers carried by soldiers and officers on both sides of the conflict.

This is the bottom half of the cartridge tin with a fragment of the original label remaining on one end.  The tin bottom is full form with three of the four corners retaining the original solder and the fourth seam has opened but is not misshapen.  The tin contains 45 of the original 50 12mm Pinfire Short cartridges which are headstamped “12” over “SB”.

A a nice packet to display with your pin-fire revolver, these Civil War era pinfire cartridge packets are becoming more and more difficult to find in any condition as they were not produced in the vast quantities that the percussion cartridges were during the period.  Accordingly, surviving specimens like this do not appear on the market as often.  Purchased by the piece, these cartridges alone would cost over $1200, so as a set of original cartridges in the original tin, this is a very good buy.  (0226)  $800

No. 2    2mm PINFIRE CARTRIDGE - WATCH FOB PISTOL BLANK:  Full form and in excellent condition, this 2mm Pinfire has no headstamp.  Pictured in comparison to a 12mm Pinfire Cartridge.  (1071)  $50
