FRANKFORD ARSENAL MODEL 1898 KRAG .30 CALIBER RIFLE AND CARBINE CARTRIDGES - FULL PACKETS:  These are relatively scarce packets of Model 1898 Krag .30 Caliber Ammunition produced at the Frankford Arsenal just after the turn of the 20TH Century.

There are two label formats, the earlier style characteristic of the 19TH Century packets produced at the arsenal, and the subsequent format that is more similar to the packets of the Model 1903 and 1906 .30 Caliber cartridges produced for the Model 1903 Springfield Rifle.   The ink stamped ballistic information and dates on the top of the packets do not necessarily coincide with the style of the label - i.e., an early style label may bear a later ink stamped date.  This is likely a function of the arsenal making use of labels they had on hand without regard to when the packets were filled.

I was fortunate to be able to acquire this limited number of these packets from an old estate.  Early 20TH Century Krag cartridge packets are quite scarce, seldom appearing on the market, and they will be a nice addition to your Krag Rifle or Carbine display.

There is some discoloration to the paper wrappers as can be seen in the photographs below, the result of the effects of long term storage, but there is no deterioration to the paper unless otherwise noted in the description of each packet.

Each packet is described individually below with accompanying photographs.
