MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER FRANKFORD ARSENAL AMMUNITION PACKETS – VERY GOOD CONDITION w/ NICE EARLY DATES -1911-1912:  Very nice examples of the Frankford Arsenal packets of “20 Caliber .45 Revolver Ball Cartridges, Model of 1909, For Colt’s Double Action Revolver, Model of 1909”.  Becoming increasingly difficult to find unopened and in decent condition, these are very respectable early packets of Model 1909 ammunition from the Frankford Arsenal to add to your display.

No. 1  MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER PACKET:  In very good condition, this packet is full form, unopened, and both of the fabric pull tabs are intact and present.  The label is present, very legible with a minimum of wear evident, and the label includes the powder identification: “R.S. Q. Lot No. 3, of 1911”.   SOLD

No. 2   MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER PACKET:  In very good condition, this packet is full form, unopened, and both of the fabric pull tabs are intact and present.  The label is present, very legible with no wear, but with some stains that do not affect the legibility of the label.  The label includes the powder identification: “R.S. Q. Lot No. 3, of 1911”, and more importantly, the top of the box is ink stamped with the date of manufacture "October 12, 1912".  This packet would be particularly nice displayed with a Mexican Punitive Expedition grouping.  (0713) $100

 

No. 3  MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER PACKET:  In excellent condition, this packet is full form, unopened, and both of the fabric pull tabs are intact and present.  The label is present, very legible with a minimum of wear evident, the label includes the powder identification: “R.S. Q. Lot No. 3, of 1911”, and more importantly, the label is also ink stamped with the partially legible date of manufacture "October 3 (?), 1912".  SOLD

 

No. 4  MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER PACKET:  In very good condition, this packet is full form, unopened, and both of the fabric pull tabs are intact and present.  The label is present, very legible with a minimum of wear evident and, the label includes the powder identification: “R.S. Q. Lot No. 3, of 1911”. There is a handwritten notation on the top panel in ink "20 Shots", perhaps a notation made while a quantity of packets were being inspected or inventoried to indicate a full packet.  (0111)  $125  

 

No. 5  MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER PACKET:  In very good condition, this packet is full form, both of the fabric pull tabs are intact and present, however a short section of one end of the top panel has been opened as shown below.  This short section can be lifted to expose four of the cartridges, but all of the original 20 cartridges are present and the integrity of the packet is not compromised.  The label is present, very legible with a minimum of wear evident, the label includes the powder identification: “R.S. Q. Lot No. 3, of 1911”, and more importantly, the label is also ink stamped with the partially legible date of manufacture "October 3 (?), 1912".   (0112)  $110  

 

No. 6  MODEL 1909 .45 cal REVOLVER CARTRIDGE CASES - EARLY DATES:  This is a lot of 12 expended Frankford Arsenal produced Model 1909 .45 Caliber cartridge cases with good early dates, all pre-dating the Mexican Punitive Expedition period.  All 12 cases are headstamped "FA" for Frankford Arsenal, and of the twelve there are six cases dated 9-13 and the other six are dated 12-13.  All twelve are full form with no crushing or misshaping and they would make a good addition to an early 20TH Century display.  These are being offered as a single lot, all twelve.  (0908)  $40
