FRANKFORD ARSENAL AMMUNITION PACKET.45 REVOLVER BLANK CARTRIDGES – ca. 1889 – FULL PACKET:  These are full Frankford Arsenal packets of 12 blank rounds of .45 caliber ammunition issued for the Colt and Smith & Wesson revolvers in service with the frontier army.  Many Indian War era collectors of do not realize that blank ammunition was a regular issue item provided to the Cavalry troopers and it was a very important and necessary item in order to accustom their horses to gun fire.

I have the following packets in inventory and each is described below with accompanying photographs.

NO. 1  FRANKFORD ARSENAL AMMUNITION PACKET.45 REVOLVER BLANK CARTRIDGES – DATED 1889 – FULL UNOPENED PACKET IN EXCELLENT CONDITION:  This is an excellent example, unopened with all the seams and edges intact, and bearing the arsenal applied ink date stamp on the top of the packet.   The packet retains its full form and the label is complete with no damage.  A prime condition packet of the type issued during the active Indian war period, this solid packet would never need to be upgraded.  (C0067)  $125
