WORLD WAR TWO PACKETS OF .30 CALIBER M-1 CARBINE AMMUNITION - LIKE NEW ORIGINAL PACKETS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION - EARLY WWII DATES - BALL, GRENADE LAUNCHING - AND SINGLE ROUNDS:  A very nice selection of full packets of M-1 .30 caliber Carbine ammunition as issued during World War Two.  Each packet is described individually below with accompanying photographs.  These are all in excellent condition, remarkable given the passage of time and how these packets are handled and subjected to poor storage.

NOTE:  At the bottom of this page are offerings of single .30 caliber Carbine cartridges that we currently have in stock.

No. 1  WORLD WAR TWO .30 CALIBER M-1 CARBINE – SEALED PACKET OF FIFTY ROUNDS – DATED MAY 1944:  This sealed World War Two issue packet of  “50 CARTRIDGES CARBINE; CALIBER .30 M1” manufactured at the Lake City Ordnance Plant is stamped in red ink “REPACKED EC 5-44”, indicating this ammunition was produced before May of 1944, certainly early enough to predate the Normandy invasion and could have been the type issued to the airborne troopers.  In like new, unissued condition with the flap still sealed, packets of this sort are becoming scarce on the market and will eventually disappear altogether.  This packet will make a nice addition to display with an airborne jump kit or with a M-1 Carbine in any context.  (0318) $65

No. 2  WORLD WAR TWO .30 CALIBER M-1 CARBINE – LIKE NEW PACKET OF FIFTY ROUNDS – DATED 1943:  This sealed World War Two issue packet of  “50 CARTRIDGES CARBINE; CALIBER .30 M1” manufactured at the Lake City Ordnance Plant contains cartridges headstamped “LC 43”, indicating the ammunition was  produced at Lake City in 1943, certainly early enough to predate the Normandy invasion and possibly the invasion of Sicily, and could have been the type issued to the airborne troopers during both of these famous operations.  In like new, unissued condition, packets of this sort are becoming scarce on the market and will eventually disappear altogether.  Note that unlike the above packet, there is no indication the flap was ever glued down to this box to seal it, and the glued seal may have been added later in the manufacturing process.  This packet will make a nice addition to display with an airborne jump kit or with a M-1 Carbine in any context.  (0330) $65

No. 3   WORLD WAR TWO .30 CALIBER M-1 CARBINE – LIKE NEW PACKET OF FIFTY ROUNDS – DATED 1945:  This World War Two issue packet of  “50 CARTRIDGES CARBINE; CALIBER .30 M1” manufactured by the Western Cartridge Company contains cartridges headstamped “WCC 45”, indicating the ammunition was  produced in 1945.  In like new, unissued condition, packets of this sort are becoming scarce on the market and will eventually disappear altogether.  The top lid of the packet appears dark and it seems it was coated with a waterproofing application to protect the packet in storage.  The balance of the packet is the normal paperboard material.  Note that unlike the above packet, there is no indication the flap was ever glued down to this box to seal it, and the glued seal may have been added later in the manufacturing process.  This packet will make a nice addition to display with an airborne jump kit or with a M-1 Carbine in any context.  (0728) $65

No. 4  WORLD WAR TWO .30 CALIBER M-1 CARBINE  GRENADE LAUNCHER AMMUNITION – SEALED PACKET OF SIX ROUNDS:  This sealed World War Two issue packet of “ SIX CARTRIDGES GRENADE CARBINE CALIBER .30 M6” was issued to use in launching the M-1 Carbine Grenades, as would have been issued to paratroopers.  There are no dates visible on the exterior of the wax paper packet, however another packet removed from the same crate was opened and contained 1943 and 1944 dated cartridges, pre-dating the Normandy invasion.  In like new, unissued condition, this packet will make a nice addition to display with an airborne jump kit or with a M-1 Carbine in any context.  $30

No. 5  WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS Co. ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT SHOP TEST .30 CALIBER CARTRIDGE - DATED 1942:  A scarce .30 Caliber Carbine Shop or Bench Function and Test Round, this is an inert cartridge, incapable of being fired, that was used in the arsenal, armory, and contract company workshops to test the function of the M-1 and M-2 US Carbines.  The cartridge case has two holes drilled through the case wall to preclude it from holding a powder charge and while it is fitted with a full metal jacket bullet, the cartridge case is filled with a wooden dowel.  So designed, this prevented a live round from being fired in a populated working environment.  These test cartridges were loaded with a live primer and then cycled through the firearm to ensure such functions as loading, extraction, firing pin strike, etc. were operating properly.   This cartridge is head stamped “W.R.A.” for Winchester Repeating Arms and “42” for 1942, a nice early World War Two date.  This is one of those scarce Ordnance Department items that only surfaces once in a while to add to your collection.   $25

No. 6  .30 CALIBER M1 CARBINE CARTRIDGES - DATED 1943 - 1945:  A nice selection of five World War Two .30 Caliber Carbine Ball Cartridges.  The cartridges are head stamped "LC" for Lake City, "WCC" for Western Cartridge Company, and “W.R.A.” for Winchester Repeating Arms, and “43” for 1943, "44" for 1944 and "45" for 1945.  A nice set of WWII dated cartridges to display with a carbine.  (1011)  $25
