ORIGINAL US ARMY AIR FORCE AN-H-15 FLIGHT HELMET –
COMPLETE WITH ANB-H-I RECEIVERS AND PL-354 LOOM AND JACK
PLUG – LARGE SIZE IN EXCELLENT UNISSUED CONDITION:
Introduced as the standard summer or light weight flying
helmet for both the Army Air Force and the US Navy in
April of 1943, the AN-H-15 Flight Helmet was the first
flying helmet designed under the joint Army/Navy
Procurement Program.
Manufactured by the Joseph Buegeleisen Company under a
1944 contract, this USAAF AN-H-15 Flight Helmet is
complete with the fitted ANB-H-1 Receivers and the wired
loom terminating with a PL-354 jack plug. It has
survived in excellent condition with no signs of wear,
or aging, and all of the stamped markings present and
legible. The black rubber receivers are both well
mounted with no tearing or separation around the edges.
The insulated cord is attached to both receivers and is
full length with no wear points to the insulation. The
chamois leather padding is intact on the inside of both
receivers with only some minor wear to the right pad.
The full length chin strap is present and intact,
showing no wear or use and with the chamois leather chin
pad present. Both the manufacturer’s tag and size tag
are present on the inside of the helmet and both are
full form and legible. There is an ink stamped USAAF
logo on both the outside and inside surfaces of the
helmet.
This is a very nice example of the AN-H-15 Helmet to add
to your collection. (0111) $250
