BANNERMAN’S INSIGNIA PLAQUE – NICE HISTORICAL
DISPLAYS OF CAVALRY AND INFANTRY INSIGNIA:
Always the entrepreneur, Francis Bannerman was the
master of marketing the literal tons of surplus goods he
had in inventory in his New York City stores, and on his
island in the Hudson River north of the city. Holding
vast stocks of insignia and decorative fittings,
Bannerman converted bayonets and dress helmet plume
holders to candle sconces, saddle bags and artillery
valises to book and tool bags, and in like manner, he
produced these plaques to appeal to style of the time
where using patriotic themed items for decorating was
popular.
From of a small cache of original Bannerman’s wooden
plaques found years ago, these wooden plaques are
decorated with a selection of cavalry or infantry
insignia. The insignia used is a combination of
original insignia pieces and restrikes – that is new
made insignia that was produced in the 1960-1970 era and
struck from the original military dies. There is a
detailed description that accompanies the photograph of
each plaque below. The back of the plaques are covered
in green felt and each plaque has a description of the
insignia on the reverse as seen below.
These attractive plaques will make a nice addition to
your militaria display or a nice piece for your office.

INSIGNIA PLAQUES - ORIGINAL "NEW OLD STOCK" NEVER USED
BY BANNERMAN: These are the same base
plaques that are featured above, measuring the same
dimensions and made of the same wood, which are "new old
stock", left over from Bannerman's halcyon days when he
used these plaques to market the vast stocks of original
insignia he had in inventory. These are the last
of the plaques, pieces he never used to mount the old
insignia pieces. In like new condition, and having
no damage, you can use these plaques to create your own
displays for your office or collection room. I
have a limited number of each style of plaque and when
these are gone, that's it - there will be no more.
Please specify by number which style of plaque you wish
to order. SOLD
