ca. 1895 – 1913 US ARMY MARKSMANSHIP MEDALS:
In an effort to encourage the marksmanship training, the
army introduced these medals as an improvement on the
simple target motif medals they had issued during the
Indian Wars period. I have the following medals
available:

ca. 1895 – 1913 US ARMY MARKSMAN BAR PINS – BRONZE
AND SILVER: A nice selection of US Army
Marksman Qualification Bar Pins, these were first
introduced ca. 1895, cast in white metal, or a silver
colored metal and later changed to the subdued bronze by
1913. These qualification bars were manufactured at
Rock Island Arsenal and the bronze bars are occasionally
found in the original 1913 dated Rock Island Arsenal
marked box. All three bars are complete with the
fastening pins on the reverse and all three have a nice
overall finish.
Only the top
silver colored bar is available for sale. $30
