MODEL 1879 US ARMY WINTER ISSUE MUSKRAT FUR GAUNTLETS:
As were issued to the soldiers stationed at the northern
forts, these gauntlets will make a very special and rare
display in your collection. Overall in very good
condition with supple hide and all of the seams intact.
Due to age there are a couple of minor spots of hair
loss, but the impact to the overall appearance is
minimal. The Quartermaster Inspector’s
acceptance stamp is visible inside one of the cuffs on
the red chintz lining. The buckskin palms of both
gauntlets are in excellent condition.
