CHAMBERS SLING FOR THE MODEL 1874 CLOTHING BAG – SCARCE
SLING TO COMPLETE YOUR CLOTHING BAG:
A very good Chambers Pattern Cloth Sling for use with
the Model 1874 Clothing Bag which was originally issued
with the M1874 Infantry Brace System. Once the brace
system was discontinued, the Chambers Cloth Sling with a
brass adjustment buckle was issued to carry the Clothing
Bag. The sling was equipped with leather billets to
mate with the buckles on the reverse of the clothing
bag.
These slings are not commonly
encountered on the loose and when found, often are
heavily frayed along the edges and show signs of long
field use or poor storage.
