SCARCE SHARPS CARBINE DOUBLE THONG CLEANING BRUSH:
Natural bristle brush with a leather thong permanently
pinned into the brass ferrule at both ends of the brush,
as issued with the early Sharps Carbines and carried by
the soldiers in their saddlebags. The brush is clean
and full form with no loss of bristles and both leather
thongs are pliable and full length with no cracking or
other damage. These double brushes are far scarcer than
the carbine brushes with the single thong and are seldom
offered for sale. See Gun Tools, Vol. I
