IN LINE PERCUSSION CAPPER AS PROVIDED WITH MID 19TH
CENTURY PERCUSSION REVOLVERS – VERY NICE SPECIMEN OF A
FAIRLY SCARCE PERCUSSION REVOLVER APPENDAGE: As
provided by the Colt Firearms Company and other
manufacturers of percussion revolvers, this Inline
Capper was one of the appendages included in contracts
for the revolvers sold to governments, and to include in
the cased sets sold to individuals.
Complete and fully functional, this brass capper is
fully intact with the operating slide and knob, the
lanyard ring, and the steel retention jaws. The brass
has a nice even patina and the steel spring jaws are
full form with no pitting. There are no maker’s marks
on any of the surfaces.
This is a fairly scarce appendage for any of the
percussion revolvers manufactured during the mid-19TH
Century and would be a nice addition to any cased set.
