MODEL 1855 MAINSPRING VISE – LIKE NEW – STAMPED “US”:  In excellent condition, as pictured on page 246 of Gun Tools, Their History and Identification, Shaffer, Rutledge, and Dorsey, this Model 1855 Mainspring Vise still retains all of the original arsenal blue, showing no wear or corrosion and a bright clean surface finish.  Plainly stamped “US” on the top jaw, this is a primary appendage for most of the US shoulder arms manufactured at the National Armory at Springfield from 1855 through the 1873 Trapdoor models.  (0339) $135
