ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT MODEL 1903 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE
GRENADE LAUNCHER BLACK RUBBER BUTT PAD – AN EXCELLENT
ORIGINAL SPECIMEN: A scarce accessory for your
Model 1903 Springfield Rifle collection, this original
US Ordnance Department issue Grenade Launcher Black
Rubber Rifle Butt Pad is in excellent condition.
Normally found with chips or pieces missing and splits
in the rubber cup, this pad has survived in excellent
condition with no signs of wear or damage. The
molded-in “US”, the Ordnance Department flaming bomb,
and the government drawing/part number are all in
excellent condition with no wear or chips out of the
edges. The original foam insert is present and in full
form. The top edge of the cup is pliable, but the
rubber has aged as is to be expected on these originals,
and it is not advisable to attempt to stretch the pad
over the butt of a rifle. To do so would risk breaking
or cracking the old rubber, and given the nice condition
of this pad, it would be best to simply display it next
