ORIGINAL MODEL 1861 .58 CALIBER MUSKET WIPER –
LONG BASE: Long base wiper as was issued
with the early Civil War Model 1861 Rifle Muskets. Every
soldier carried one of these in his cartridge box.
In excellent condition with the arsenal finish intact,
this is a nice piece to complete your musket display.
As this long base pattern was replaced by the short base
pattern mid way through the war, these long base
versions are considerably harder to find and
proportionately more desirable.
