THE MODEL 1816 TYPE III AND MODEL 1840 CONVERSION
MUSKETS, AND THE MODEL 1842 MUSKETS: This is
the musket wiper developed for issue with the muskets
converted to percussion during the 1855-1859 period, to
include the Model 1816 Type III Muskets, the Model 1840
Conversion Muskets, and the Model 1842 Muskets – both
smooth bore and rifled. Every soldier carried one of
these in his cartridge box. In excellent condition with
the arsenal finish intact, this is a nice piece to
