1942 ST. LOUIS ORDNANCE DEPOT PROOF HOUSE GAUGE:
This very attractive brass gauge is from the St. Louis
Ordnance Depot Proof House and is so marked and dated
1942. The gauge was manufactured by the Stanley Tool
Company and bears their logo of the “S” in the arrowhead
cartouche. The gauge functions smoothly, the serrated
steel wheel turning freely on the threaded shaft, and
all of the incremental division stampings on the wheel
and on the mouth of the brass frame are legible. A
unique Ordnance Department examination gauge and one of
the more attractive collectables associated with the
Ordnance Department. $250
