ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT M1903A1
& A3 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE REPLACEMENT BOLT ASSEMBLIES IN
THE ORIGINAL BOX:
Here is a scarce accessory for your M1903 A1 or A3
Springfield collection. This is a US Ordnance
Department issue of two complete bolt assemblies for
the M1903A1 and M1903A3 Rifle, in the original, like new
box. Manufactured by the Brown and Sharpe Mfg. Co., and
issued through the Boston Ordnance District.
This box
was sealed with the original paper tape when I obtained
it, however realizing that folks might want to know what
they are buying I remoistened the tape in order to open
the box. The tape is still intact and the box could be
resealed if that was the preference of the buyer.
Contained in the box, as can be seen in the photos, are
two full bolt assemblies, each wrapped in a piece of
green, oil impregnated paper. Each bolt is marked on
the base of the handle “B & S”, a four digit number, and
the “Flaming Bomb” Ordnance Department acceptance
stamp. The bolts are literally in brand new condition,
with bright arsenal blue finish and no rust or any other
sign of damage or wear. The box measures 6 5/8” x 3 ¼”
x 1 ¾” and is constructed of the typical government
paste board.
This is a truly unique accessory that you
are not likely to encounter very often. $150
