WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS COMPANY MAINTENANCE
PRODUCTS – GUN GREASE AND RUST REMOVER:
Original Winchester Repeating Arms Company proprietary
Gun Care Products. These items are fairly scarce as
they were by their very nature consumables and the vast
majority of what was produced was used up.
I haven’t been able to determine from my available
references the period of production of these pieces, but
the design of the box and tubes all include the dark
green color that is associated with the earlier
production Winchester cartridge boxes. There was
another color scheme on these tubes that replaced the
areas on these tubes that are in light green with a
bright yellow and I believe those with the color schemes
that included yellow are a later production than these
with the light green.
I have the following products and each is described
below with accompanying photographs.

No. 1 WINCHESTER
REPEATING ARMS COMPANY GUN GREASE: This
partially used tube of Winchester Gun Grease retains its
form, the cap is intact, the contents are approximately
80% unused and approximately 90% of the label on the
tube is complete and legible. There is some loss of the
label due to scuffing and use, but the tube is still
very displayable. (0230) $25

No. 2 WINCHESTER
REPEATING ARMS COMPANY RUST REMOVER: This
partially used tube of Winchester Rust Remover retains
its form, the cap is intact, the contents are
approximately 80% unused and approximately 95% of the
label on the tube is complete and legible. The bottom
end is rolled and is somewhat wrinkled, but could be
smooth out with a little time and care. The tube
remains very displayable. (0231) $25

WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS COMPANY GUN GREASE IN THE
ORIGINAL BOX: A partially used tube of
Winchester Gun Grease in the original box. The
tube retains its form, the cap is intact, the contents
are approximately 80% unused, and the label on the tube
is complete and legible. The box is complete with
both end flaps and the inner “ears”, and the labeling is
all legible. One long edge has opened, but it
could easily be repaired. The box is oil soaked
but otherwise solid and still very displayable.
