HARLEY DAVIDSON AND INDIAN MOTORCYCLES – DRIVER TRAINING
AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL IN “LIKE NEW” CONDITION:
Prepared and printed before the attack on Pearl Harbor,
this War Department Manual for “THE MOTORCYCLE” was
printed by the Government Printing Office in Washington,
D.C. in 1940.
With tan paper covers, this 43 page manual contains
photographs, diagrams, nomenclature, part, and tool
charts, instruction on the expected subjects of
maintenance and operation in order to train soldiers
issued the Model 1940 Indian and Model 1940 Harley
Davidson (Models 45 and 74) Motorcycles, to include
those models equipped with a side car.
The manual is in excellent “like new” condition, with no
damage and no sign of wear. This is a rare manual and
one that would display nicely with a restored
