REGIMENTAL HISTORY OF THE 7TH US
CAVALRY REGIMENT – FT. RILEY KANSAS, 1910 – NUMEROUS
PHOTOGRAPHS AND COMPLETE LISTS OF COMPANY ROSTERS:
This Illustrated Review, Seventh Cavalry, U.S.A. was
originally published in 1910 at Ft. Riley, Kansas.
A comprehensive history of the regiment, this 180 page
review - produced in a large format measuring 7 ¾” by 16
½”- contains photographs and rosters of officers and
enlisted men for the staff and each company at the time
of publication, as well as year by year histories of
regiment’s service since its creation in 1866, lists of
the veterans of the Indian Wars, Spanish American War,
Philippine Insurrection, China Relief Expedition and the
Cuba Campaign. In addition to the unit level
photographs, there are also numerous photos of Ft. Riley
and the various buildings around the post, the
regiment’s flags, and outdoor activities.
While none of these reviews are common to the market,
and were probably limited in production like any annual,
there are at least two variations. I suspect this
particular piece may be a reprint, albeit a well
executed product with clear printing.
This is good reference for this famous regiment and
particularly handy for researching personnel assigned to
the 7TH during this period. Far from common,
this book seldom appears on the market and has been seen
priced as high as $950.
