WORLD WAR ONE ABSORBENT GAUZE PACKETS – AS CARRIED
IN THE MODEL 1910 MILLS ENLISTED MEDICAL CORPSMAN’S BELT
– IN EXCELLENT TO VERY GOOD SEALED CONDITION: A
rare offering, these Johnson & Johnson Absorbent Gauze
Packets were issued to World War One Combat Medics who
carried them in their Model 1910 Enlisted Man’s Medical
Belt. As listed in the regulations, two of these
packets were carried in pocket No. 3 (counted from the
left end of the belt).
These Sublimated Absorbent Gauze Bandages, measuring one
yard long, are compressed in a waxed paper wrapped box
with the labeling printed on the wrapper. These
bandages were some of the first of their kind, developed
to protect the wound while allowing it to drain, thereby
retarding the onset of infection.
Produced for the army by Johnson & Johnson, and so
labeled, the packets are still sealed, are in full form,
and have fully legible labels bearing the May of 1917
contract date. I have acquired a few of these in very
good to excellent condition and will send the best of
what I have to fill your order.
These early field medical supplies do not appear on the
market with any frequency. This is a rare opportunity
to fill one of the pockets of your Model 1910 Enlisted
Man’s Medical Belt with the correct contents – two
packets for the pocket. For as long as they last, the
price is per packet. (0207) $45
