FABRICATION
OF SMALL ARMS ORDNANCE MEMORANDA NO. 22 - REPRINT OF A
VERY DETAILED 1878 ORDNANCE MANUAL: This
is a reprint of Ordnance Memoranda No. 22, an 8.5" by
5.5" 250 page manual published in 1878 by General Benet
in his role as the Chief of Ordnance. The text,
with accompanying diagrams, provides very detailed
descriptions of the methods of manufacture, repair,
storage and transport of the Model 1873 Trapdoor Rifles
and Carbines. Far more detailed than the common
user manual issued with each firearm to the individual
soldier, this manual was intended for the direction and
guidance of the officers and soldiers assigned to
Ordnance Department duties.
