DEVELOPMENT OF THE MILLS WOVEN
CARTRIDGE BELT 1877 – 1956:
This is a reprint of the history of the Mills Woven
Cartridge Belt Company, written in the mid-20th
Century by the managing director of The Mills Equipment
Co. Ltd., located in London, England. This 72 page
paper bound monograph provides the detailed history of
the development of the Mills Woven equipment from the US
Army Mills Cartridge Belts through the equipment used by
the soldiers of the British Empire during World War Two
and in the decade beyond. While primarily focused on
British equipment, the text does provide considerable
insight as to how the various pieces of equipment were
determined to be necessary, designed and produced. The
booklet features a considerable number of period
photographs and a few sample patent drawings.
This copy is ex libris from the
R. Stephen Dorsey research library and it is in very
good condition, showing no wear, but with some neatly
yellow highlighted portions of the text. A great little
reference which is no longer in print. (0343) $20
