ca. 1898-1920’s CAVALRY REGIMENT COLLAR INSIGNIA –
BOTH GILT DRESS UNIFORM AND SUBDUED BRONZE SERVICE
UNIFORM: These are original 1898 through the
early 20th Century Enlisted Pin Back Insignia
for regiments of Cavalry. The bright gilt insignias
were worn on the dark blue dress coats and the subdued
bronze insignias were worn on the khaki service blouse.
These insignia appear to be unissued with the original
mounting pin on the reverse, and are in like new
condition unless otherwise noted.

NO. 3 SUBDUED BRONZE CAVALRY
REGIMENT COLLAR INSIGNIA – SMALLER VERSION:
This is a smaller version of the standard cavalry
regiment subdued bronze collar insignia for wear on the
khaki service uniform blouses. Measuring 2 1/8” along
the sabre instead of the standard 2 ½”, these may have
been a private purchase version for officers. The 1ST
Cavalry Reg’t, Troop D is complete with the attaching
pin on the reverse. The 2ND Cavalry Reg’t,
Troop F has the remnants of a stud in the center where
the sabres cross.
1ST Cavalry Reg’t, Troop D $25
2ND Cavalry Reg’t, Troop F $10

NO. 4 GILT CAVALRY OFFICER’S COLLAR
INSIGNIA: I believe this is an officer’s
private purchase insignia, for wear on the collar or on
the epaulet of his uniform coat. Measuring 1 ½” high
and 1 ½” wide, the insignia features the national seal
of the US Army surmounting the cavalry crossed sabres.
A very attractive insignia, complete with the pin back.
Just the one. (0434) $25

NO.
5 ca. 1905 7TH CAVALRY OFFICERS COLLAR
INSIGNIA: This original Pattern 1905 7TH
Cavalry Officer’s Collar Insignia has survived in
excellent condition. While it shows some evidence of
having been worn with some minor tarnish showing on the
points of the scabbards and across the top bar of the 7,
the insignia retains the majority of its original gilt
finish. I have no doubt this is an original early
insignia and not a later restrike. The insignia is
complete with both mounting pins and discs. This is a
very nice piece of historic cavalry regiment insignia.
(0224) $25
